GuyWatch Released - CaliGirl Sun Aug 31
The past 6-7 months we've had the idea to launch this section, I even created the design back then but the guys we asked never were brave enough to step up the the plate! We had a few guys chicken out since it was something they were scared of people finding out they were being featured as a hunk of LadyGamers.com. Jube and I discovered a very nice looking man who was a gentlemen to both of us at Quakecon, he helped run the official tournaments at the event. He was charming, but had a fun loving personality.

Today we'd like to introduce you to our first beefcake (as Jubey likes to call it), CC-Nate. Three of us girls jumped on to the love train to see what Nate was like so check him out in full boxer bloom!

Blue Inferno Coverage - Bitter_Ivy Sun Aug 31
The latest tournament coverage includes a look at the Blue Inferno CTF (BiCTF) community with an event profile. I also talked to [TBLM]Airamis77, one of the originators of the tourney. The interview takes us back to when Airamis77 started playing Quake 3, how BiCTF was conceived, season 2 champs and games he is looking forward to.

WildStar Maps has added four (4) new Enemy Territory maps for download, including the beta 3 version of Flak Cannon, MML Church, Normandy Beach Invasion and Urban Territory. LadyGamers would like to wish our tournament Bish a Happy Birthday. Bitter_Ivy enjoys playing Quake, and is even working on a new project called Ladies of Quake that we're excited to be apart of here at LadyGamers. Head on over to LoQ's forums to discuss their new project in the works! Also tell Ivy happy birthday over there while you're at it.

August Focus - CaliGirl Thur Aug 28
LadyGamers is excited to present some interesting people in the gaming community with our Focus of the Month for August. Ms. Quakecon Aftermath News - CaliGirl Wed Aug 27
During Quakecon, I ended up meeting a lot of great people, some who were in the All Female Tournament, others who were just at the event.  This last week caught up with a couple of the girls who competed in Ms. Quakecon with some brief interviews:

  • NutmO tells us about the match against Krissy and the w4t clanmates she met in person for the first time.
  • suga made it to 4th place. There's talk about her match with Sanctuary and more.
  • Trixie tells us the difference between Lystrata and suga's matches.
  • Bunneh mentions her precious moments, the nice girls in the tournament and more.

There also even more aftermath related news worth talking about.

  • MsHep was too busy before she left to Quakecon to finish her interview so once she got back she sent it on over. Now is your chance to get to know her more!
  • MsQuakecon.org may look like there hasn't been any updates since during the event but if you check the match brackets page once more, you'll notice that it at least has the names all filled in.
  • CaliGirl Audio Interview at PlanetQuake3.net: Roger was kind enough to dig a little deeper into my history of gaming, talk about what I felt about Ms. Quakecon, and much more.

Community Girl Talk - CaliGirl Sun Aug 24

  • Black Avatar LAN Pictures: Few girls from Brats and Femfx clans attended the event.
  • Qgirlz Retires: Sadly enough, another old school Quake clan has decided to retire. There's a message up over at the site if you're up to reading about the history about the clan. The link we have up at LadyHunt's clan listing has been placed under retired clans area on the bottom of the page.
  • AngelDust is a german TacticalOps female clan.
  • Femcon: Gaming Girls at Gencon is an article written by GameGirl Avance's Jane. She runs into a handful of girls at the event and there's pictures to prove it!
  • Female Video Gamers was a site dedicated to Console Platforms, and is now nother site that dropped off the face of the net. :/  The webmaster that was dedicated to the site is working on another site called Hottie Haven that focuses on hot guys in anime and video games.

Jube's Quakecon Diary - CaliGirl Thurs Aug 21
I wasn't the only one who is a part of LadyGamers that attended Qcon, Jubey did as well. She gives her side of the story in various coverage links listed below:

CaliGirl's Quakecon Journey - CaliGirl Thurs Aug 21
You would not believe how much of a relief it is to finally have this almost complete. I am still missing Krissy's match, and Call of Duty Impressions but for now, everything else is complete. To give you some incite of what you will find in my Quakecon Journey, the article has an introductory page directory that displays the event by day, Doom 3 Impressions, photo gallery and other Mentions such as; Shoutouts and Ms. Qcon participant matches. Here is a snippet of my Doom 3 preview:

Fredo showed me where the rocket launcher was on the map since the demo version had only animated arrows over weapon pick-up spots. When I tried the Rocket Launcher I felt like I was Queen of Doom holding it. It's probably going to be one of my favorite weapons, with the Berserker close at second.

Quakecon Article Progress - CaliGirl Wed Aug 20
My Quakecon 2003 article is almost done peeps. Thanks so much for your patience with me. To give you the gist of it all, the article is going to be set up much like a directory on the introduction page, there will be areas on there with the dates I attended the event showing off sections listed on each page. There is also some impressions on Doom 3, Call of Duty, Meeting people in person impressions (basically a shoutout page), and a picture gallery of all pictures I had the chance to take (even if helping out tournament had me busy). I am finishing up a few more things for the article so it should be ready by tomorrow! Thanks again for your interest and bugging me to hurry my bootay up. I know many of you girls who participated in Ms. Quakecon have been wanting to see pictures right away so I did upload only the Ms. Quakecon pictures. This is three pages long and should pacify most of you for the time being. Enjoy!

Ms. Quakecon Blurb - CaliGirl Sun Aug 17
As of 5pm tonight, I am home from Quakecon. Sorry about the lack of updates at LadyGamers during this event. I would have if I had the news engine set up but since I update manually, I thought I'd just give you all a hefty article with pictures. I am currently working out all of the notes I wrote during the event. Overall, it was an exciting event. I enjoyed meeting so many nice people. But as for the sour ones,  I won't even talk about those rare but mean glares. I took the good over the bad because there was more good.

Meantime, if you're curious on who won the tournament, check out Gamespy's small blurb near the end of the page. However, if you want to know how they got to Ms.X and Succubus for the finals, view the brackets at the official Ms. Quakecon site. They will update those brackets with in the next day or so.

Ms Quakecon Additions - CaliGirl Wed Aug 6
We're growing even closer to this Friday people! Aren't you excited if you're going? Aren't you upset if you're not? I plan on giving you some coverage about the Ms. Quakecon tournament along with one of my long journey articles you know me for. *sigh* Every game event I attend HAS to be done that way, it's just my way of getting everyone who asked me how things went, a link instead of talking for hours to them... which I love but would prefer them reading the article then ask me the questions. :)

So with that said, off with the interviews we have had since the last time I posted news about it. Thanks to the girls working so hard to hurry up and give them back to me before I leave early Thursday morning to Quakecon..

PlanetDoom Launches - CaliGirl Tues Aug 12
Since QuakeCon will have the Doom 3 multiplayer at the event, GameSpy has launched PlanetDoom. Here's some quotes from the site director and Director of Content.

Site Director Jeff 'cyric' McAllister:

"I plan to have PlanetDOOM known as the first and last place that you will need to go to for anything related to DOOM 3. Be it interesting articles, features, or the latest files. GameSpy Planet sites are the Mecca of game specific sites and PlanetDOOM won't be any exception."

Dave 'Fargo' Kosak, Director of Content and Community at GameSpy:

"DOOM kicked off elements that we take for granted in modern PC gaming, such as multiplayer or use expandability. It spawned the term ‘Deathmatch.’ It changed the face of PC games! DOOM is a powerful franchise for gamers that's synonymous with pushing the technological envelope. And PlanetDOOM is a natural fit for the GameSpy Network, which focuses on titles like these that spawn a community of fans and ongoing development."

  • Syberia 2 Interview at Adrenaline Vault Ian Smithers interviews Benoît Sokal, author behind the Syberia series and artistic director of Syberia II. This intelligent interview covers a wide range of subjects including story line development, technical improvements, game music, and character development of Kate Walker, the savvy New York attorney who is the main character of the game. Here's a bit of what Benoît Sokal had to say about the game's heroine: "Kate clearly decided her boyfriend wasn’t worth anything when she learned he had an affair with her best friend. You’ll see the follow-up to this decision in Syberia II. Kate’s mind isn’t on romance; she’s more in a discovery mood, and her journey doesn’t leave much room for love."

Enemy Territory Goodies - Posted by CaliGirl Sun Aug 10
For those of you who happened to be hooked on Enemy Territory, I have found a few useful links for all of you. I feel the hardest part about ET is learning the objectives that need to be accomplished. Starting off as a Soldier, then Medic helps you learn more about the game. The other classes seem easier if you do this.

LadyHunt Update - Posted by CaliGirl Sat Aug 9
I did some browsing in the LadyHunt Interviews section to find out that 7 links are now dead. The following interviews have been restored since I always archive any links I add to LadyHunt by downloading them and keeping them on my HDD:
