Quakecon czm Interview
- Tuesday 8/24/2004 by
CaliGirl
Amped has conducted an
interview
with Paul 'czm' Nelson, the champion of Quakecon Quake 3 1vs1
tournament. Methos gives a great outline on a lot of czm's background,
details on how he won the tournament and much more. Here's an excerpt:
In the championship finals of what should be the last major Q3
1v1 tourney. The maps were random choice and in a case of deja vu,
czm was again forced to play on ZeRo4's favorite map,
pro-q3tourney4. This time, czm took control early and was able to
win the match 20-16. With one match left to go, the grand finals
would be played on a map that both players had played a million
times, Ztn3tourney1. Even though Z4 had won Qcon on this very map in
the past, czm is a very tough opponent on Ztn compared to most
players in the tourney. After all was said and done, czm played very
smart and was able to win the Qcon2k4 final game by a score of 10-1.
