Void War Details - Monday 9/27/2004 by CaliGirl
Rampant Games announced that their 3-D space combat game, Void War, is complete.  Void War takes retro style space combat to a whole new level, combining the easy to learn game play of earlier space combat simulators with modern technology.  The game features Multiplayer and Single Player, and includes sub-modes as well.  Single Player games can be played in Campaign Mode and in Death Match mode.  Multiplayer games can be played on teams mode or every man for himself.

The Campaign Mode features a campy story about a young man seeking his love, who happens to be a war heroine, who’s gone missing in search of a strange alien craft that has appeared at the edge of known space.  Lance Dawson must battle his way through hordes of claim jumpers, all of whom want the alien craft for a variety of devious purposes.  There are three difficulty settings to choose from, which provides challenge for any skill level, and when you think you have mastered the art of space dog fighting, head online to battle other Void Runners from across the globe!

The Movies Contest - Sunday 9/26/2004 by CaliGirl
Activision and Lionhead have created a contest that gives you a chance to have your own artwork in a game called "The Movies". You'll be a credited part of the team and your work will be in every copy of the game. Here's an excerpt from the intro:

The idea is that every studio in The Movies game has its own, easily recognized logo, which appears at the start of its movies and on much of its property. Each studio is personalized according to the desires of the boss and the logo is one of the biggest ways this is carried out. Studio logos appear on crew clothing, the water tower, flags, your personalized homepage when uploading movies and importantly, the credits for every film you make. It's a big part of the customizable nature of the game.

If you feel you're a talented artist, check out the official competition page for further details.
