Meridian4 and Rebelmind have announced that Space Hack has gone Gold. Space Hack is a Sci-Fi Action/RPG, scheduled for release in November 15th, 2005. Playing the role of a tough, gristled ex-military man, gamers will struggle to reach an emergency transport module at the far end of the ship to free the remaining colonists, hacking and slashing their way through hordes of alien creatures along the way.

Inhuman Games has released a demo for their newly released sci-fi RTS game, Trash. The game is said to be similiar to the real-time glory days of Starcraft and Command and Conquer. Focusing on multiplayer, it takes teamwork to survive in the hostile wastes of the future. Protect one another and attack as a team and victory will follow.

Ubisoft and Gearbox Software have announced that Brothers In Arms Earned In Blood has gone gold, and should be in stores by October, 6th. Brothers In Arms Earned In Blood builds upon the elements that have made Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30 a success by adding new features and game modes. The game features a new singleplayer narrative, new multiplayer missions, all-new cooperative-style game mode, and new weapons and vehicles.

Ubisoft announced that Myst V: End of Ages, the grand finale of their adventure game, has gone gold with a release date of September 20, 2005. Rand Miller, co-creator of Myst and founder of Cyan Worlds, and his Spokane-based development team have brought the development of the final episode and storyline to a close in its most dramatic experience to date, with photorealistic 3D scenes, innovative new slate and in-game help systems, and puzzles. The release of the game also coincides with the 12th anniversary of the franchise’s debut.

CGOnline.com released an article entitled, "The First First-Person Shooter", which basically tells many old school FPS'rs that id Software never made the first game of this genre. All I can say is show me the screens! Quote:

"If you think id Software created first-person 3D gaming, think again: In the early 1970s, a group of engineers created a game known at various points as The Maze Game, Maze Wars, or simply Maze. It was a networked, first-person shooter with 3D graphics, and this is its story."

For people that are not familiar with this type of contest, check this out. Below is a scaled down copy of the image we will use. To get the full size image visit the thread where we posted the contest here. Basically, everyone just takes this image and changes it like they do at photoshopcontest.com. You can use MS Paint or fancy editors that you may have. If we get enough interest, we could do these more often. There isn't a prize, this is just for fun.

According to Bluesnews, Anaconda Games has made an announcement (in German) that 80 Days will be delayed. The game has been pushed back by about a month from the original September 30 release date. A demo (461 MB) has been released for the Starship Troopers game. Exactly as you thought, its based on the 1997 film as it allows you to play through a portion of the third level. You must defend Outpost 29 from a swarm of bugs, while also venturing out to a crash site to help restore power.
