The Playstation 3 has been the focus of a
great deal of speculation speculation and rumors recently. The new
microprocessor called “the Cell” has been in the works since 2001. It will
be at the heart of the new Playstation console. Talk about “the enemy of
my enemy is my friend” though. IBM used to be in the thick of things with
Sony rival Microsoft, which is also preparing a new XBoxconsole to compete
with the PS3 of course. This monster of a processor should generate ten
times the power of current PC’s! Nintendo has promised to make an
announcement about its next generation game at the Game Developer's
Conference in San Francisco in March. It is widely speculated that
Microsoft will unveil is new game system (codenamed Xenon) at the
Electronic Entertainment Expo in May. |
