Silent Hill Horror

 An
adaptation of the hugely popular video game, has been in the works for
over three years now and is finally well into pre-production. judging from
a detailed synopsis from producer
Don Carmody's website. The film was written by Roger Avary and will be
directed by Christophe Gans. We can expect the new story to open with a
cliche' "not without my daughter" derivative that seems out of place in
the teen-horror universe of Silent Hill. Supposedly a woman who is
desperate to save her dying child finds herself trapped in an alternate
reality which is a dangerous world of demons. She flees with her child,
intending to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, she ends up
driving through a portal in reality, which takes her to the eerie and
deserted town of
Silent Hill. It is of course inhabited by assorted monsters and the
living darkness that descends. The mother is joined by a cop named Cybil,
who has been sent to bring her back and searches for the her little girl,
while learning the history of Silent Hill. Maybe this wil lead to another
Silent Hill game with a playable lead female character again like Silent
Hill 3.
