Sin City Scoop

A Sin City videogame is in the works. This news seems to fit the current lucrative trend of popular comic movies becoming video games. IGN Film Force website reports that Flint Dille and John Zuur Platten were working on several new projects including Backwater. It seems that this announcement had inadvertently credited John Zuur Platten and Flint Dille with the new Sin City videogame.

Have you seen the Sin city movie yet? What a kick-butt movie it is. It was very, very different. And very, very adult material. It was not like anything I have ever seen before. It was all about the shock factor. It also was pretty much non stop decapitations and severing of limbs. But the black and white "film noir" visual treatment made it very subtle. It is a movie about the unbridled lust for revenge.

Most ladies I know would hate this flick. Going into it you have to be prepared for something totally bizarre. I thought that it was empowering in the way that the women's roles were handled. And again I think many women might not agree with that. It is super violent. I have seen lots of martial arts flix where the violence is part and parcel of the story line, but this one takes the cake. Go see it because it is all anyone is going to be talking about for the next 15 minutes.

Sin City is exciting. It is sexually charged, and bloody. It is the first movie that is based on the graphic novels that portrays exact paneled frames of the original work, on film. The stories are old themes of revenge and lust and heroism. There are many twists and turns that draw you into the dark world and get you involved with the shady characters. And when the plot is finally revealed, it seems like it is something that you might find in today's real world. The women in it are scantily clad or nude and the movie has an R rating. I would expect the game to be rated M. The film and stories are portrayed in the film noir world of '50s pulp mags and old detective films.

Sin City is Frank Miller's critically acclaimed comic series. The movie, by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez includes events and characters from three of Frank Miller's works: Sin City,The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard. What a cast too. Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Clarke Duncan, Carla Gugino, Josh Hartnett, Jaime King, Michael Madsen, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Nick Stahl, Bruce Willis and Elijah Wood.
