[LadyGamers]: Your clan has always had a pretty good name in the
gaming community. What do you feel keeps it growing
strong to this day?
[Starlight]:
Like most clans, we've had our ups and downs. I
believe it is our ambition and determination to make it somewhere. We have
high hopes for the Cyberathlete Armature League.
I also believe
that the close friendships we have with each other keeps the clan alive.
We are very supportive of each other regarding real life situations. A few
of the clan members have met in real life and allot of them talk on the
phone on a regular basis.
One of our clan
members has sent other girlz microphones, soundcards, and other
miscellaneous items. Like a CD with the latest Half-Life and
Counter-Strike updates "poor girl was on 28k lol".
[LadyGamers]: Can you name any old game girls who
you miss and would like to rejoin the GirlzClan, whether they
are in the gaming scene to this day or have left it?
[Starlight]:
- Betty_Page - She
was in the clan when we first started then one day she signed off and no
one ever heard from her again. :(
- Akasha - She
left the clan because she was on 56k and didn't feel she was needed with
us. Her pings were always too high to play in scrims / matches ect.
[LadyGamers]: You have two beautiful daughters. Do
they play any games? What age do you feel would be acceptable
for kids, if they were carefully watched by their parents
could play first person shooter games? Also, what is your
limit to games that are too scary for them to see.
[Starlight]:
Awww, thanks. They do play games, but
right now it's just learning games. Mathematical and matching
ect games. My oldest daughter always used to watch me when I
played Half-Life "she loved it when I went in the water".
[lol]
I don't
feel that a child's age should solely be based on whether
they're able to play a game or not. I think it's more of a
mentality or maturity factor when thinking of those lines. I
don't see myself allowing them to see something like the new
Doom3 because it is a bit on graphic side.
But I know
of people in their 30's playing CS that have really no right
doing so. When you read stories about people knifing someone
over being knifed in the game it's a sad thing. Allot of bad
press is handed to games about things like that. And they turn
it on the children. I feel it's a parent's responsibility to
maintain your child and what they experience.
[LadyGamers]: Is there an upcoming game that you feel
your clan may compete in if tournaments and prizes were
involved?
[Starlight]:
We
are attending a LAN Tournament in April.
LanTactics
Chicago LAN Event sponsored by
Art of War Central.
Prizes are involved so wish us luck. :D
[LadyGamers]: If you name a few old school clans
(female/coed/male) that existed or still exist to this day,
which ones have you admired the most throughout the years?
[Starlight]:
Defiantly QGirlZ. They "from what I know" are the
oldest all female gaming clan around. I always give major
credit to any clan that has been around that long
especially if they are female.
XPK an old
Half-Life clan. They were one of the top Half-Life clans
around. All of their members were always very respectful. They
held a professional attitude while they played. My boyfriend
was a founding member :)
