[LadyGamers]: You're a big
Ensemble fan. What do you think about Age of Mythology? Did
it live up to your expectations?
[BigDawg]: It did and then some. It's
graphically a beautiful game. Amazingly so for an RTS, this genre doesn't
see a lot of high end detail generally. As far as game play they did some
interesting things to improve it. Ensemble keeps setting the standard for
the RTS genre.
[LadyGamers]: Dragons are Myths.
Are there any dragons in the Age of Mythology game? Speaking
of the dragons, did you ever see Reign of Fire?
[BigDawg]: One of the Norse gods you can chose
gives you the ability to summon a dragon that can be pretty devastating.
I did see Reign of Fire. Great effects, mediocre movie
but some great effects.
[LadyGamers]: The original Command
& Conquer was the biggest strategy hit back in 1995. Many
people say to this day it's the first strategy game that every
existed. Do you have any fond Single player or Multiplayer
memories of playing that game?
[BigDawg]: Around the time C&C was making
it big was when we were first getting in LAN parties in my area. So we had
the excitement of this new type of game that proved to me, and a few
others in the group to be very addicting. Then you add into that the whole
gaming LAN, with the trash talking and great laughs that came along with
it. The LAN influence may very well have been what got me truly hooked in
the game. Later on we found KALI and I think that was what set the hook in
my mouth. We played Warcraft 2 and Red Alert on there a lot.
[LadyGamers]: You're no longer in
the XP clan but you were for quite a few years. Did you
compete in any tournaments during the time as XP-BigDawg?
[BigDawg]: Any tournaments I was in were
actually in my pre-XP days. Unfortunately work for me in the times I was
playing a lot didn't lend to any kind of set schedule structure. Random
days off prohibited me from competing in anything but ladders.
[LadyGamers]: You lived in
California for many years. Do you miss anything about living
there?
[BigDawg]: I miss being that much closer to
all my friends in gaming. Also when I was living in the bay area it was
right in the heart of the west coast gaming scene. While Nevada is a great
state to live in about the only gaming or computer events we have to speak
of is Comdex.
