[LadyGamers]: You mainly have a
background for Quake II. Did you ever try out the original Quake game
later on? Most gamers who start out with Q2 don't like Quake 1 as much.
[BitterIvy]:
Actually, I started playing Quake 3, single player, in March of 2001, and
started playing it online in March of 2002. I played alot of Quake 2
single player and very little of it online. I've never played the original
Quake. Although I am curious, especially since I've heard the soundtrack
is great. [hehe] I love playing Quake 3 Arena. When my ex-boyfriend
introduced me to it, I don't think he had any idea how well I'd take to
it.
[LadyGamers]: You were known for being a Gamespy Friday
Night Frag Fest groupy from constantly playing those nights. What do you
miss about those days? Do you have any pleasant memories you can share
with us?
[BitterIvy]:
Well, the FNFF, or
Friday Night Frag Fest, was put together by the people from Planetquake
and the PHHortress. I am actually still an active participant in the
FNFF, or at least that's what the site says. (Under the Files section,
Quake 3 skins.) The FNFF is a great place to have some fun. It's not a
competitive clan sort of thing. Everyone that participates is there to
kick back and frag some butt. I've met a lot of wonderful people at the
FNFF. We all have a great time, and we usually end up with some pretty
cool action screenshots. The are posted on the FNFF site under
screenshots, along with the scores from the FNFF *INSTAMUSH* server
(65.113.118.154:27961 ), the FNFF MOD server (65.113.118.154:27962 ) and
the -=HELLCHICK=- server (65.113.118.155:27960). Anyone can come out and
join in. The plans are posted each week on the PlanetQuake forums.
[LadyGamers]: You happen to be inactive in the Ladies of
Quake clan at the moment. Does this mean you currently don't play in any
matches for LOQ? It couldn't be that you have you put your gaming life on
vacation for now.
[BitterIvy]:
I do participate in practices, help out with the website, and
admin/moderate the channel and the forums. I have not put my gaming life
on vacation. :) In fact, I've stepped it up by joining a great bunch of
guys from clan Zero Hour, zH.
I am in the process of helping to ready their iFT team for the OGL insta
Freeze Tag ladder. I am looking forward to the serious competition. We
have a great bunch of guys on the team and I believe we will do well.
[LadyGamers]: What games are you looking forward to the
most at this time? Is it Quake 4? Doom 3 or something else? Do you feel
this upcoming game could get you to compete in tournaments for cash
prizes?
[BitterIvy]:
I'd have to say Quake 4. I've never played Doom, so I'm not sure how that
would be. Well, I've never been in a competition that was for cash prizes.
The idea sounds interesting, but at this time it's enough to just win for
the sake of winning.
[LadyGamers]: With a lot more female gaming sites popping
up around every corner the past few months, how does it make you feel to
have a broader selection of gaming resources?
[BitterIvy]: I like the idea of
having sites that cater to female gamers. I have an
informative site about Quake
myself, although it doesn't cater just to the ladies, but more to
the freeze and iCTF world. It's nice to have a broader selection of
resources, so that I can always find exactly what I am looking for.
