[LadyGamers]: GUNRadio was founded by MadMan, ButtaKnife and
Focus. How did you become a manager with the shoutcast radio station? What
do you do on a daily basis as a manager?
[Rob]: I
started off by writing mIRC radio bots and was in 2 different radio
stations. While in those stations I saw things going on that I personally
didn't agree with and a few others didn't agree with as well.
So a few of us
branched off from the first station to create a new one and yet again more
problems came up. This time I decided it's time for me to make one and run
it how a station should be. This was the birth of Conspiracy Radio. I
couldn't have asked for a better group of people who were dedicated to our
listeners and doing what they loved. Conspiracy Radio was right in between
the small stations and the bigger ones. Slowly talks between GUNRadio and
Conspiracy started happening and all the details on how the merge would
work had been set up. MadMan and myself had several talks discussing how
all this would work. I had gave up my ownership status of Conspiracy Radio
and was brought in as a Coordinator, one step away from management in
early October. All the work and dedication I put into GUNRadio, trying to
get new members, handling internal affairs and handling the public caused
the management to realize I was ready and dedicated to GUNRadio and was
given the promotion.
Currently right now I am doing the same thing as
before. I'm focusing more on getting game casters right now than DJ's
because of all the tournaments and ladders that are starting or have
started.

[LadyGamers]: There seems to be a huge crew of Gunradio people. What do
you offer as a Shoutcast? Do most of the staff plan to make big appearance
at Quakecon this year? With that said, do you plan on attending or even
participate in any of the tournaments?
[Rob]:
We offer matches to be broadcasted on air,
live interviews, music and talk shows are in the works of being set up. We
are working with XTGL, CAL, and Resurrected currently for matches to be
broadcasted on air. We have a few bands lined up for interviews just
working out a few minor details such as if its going to be done by phone
or over a voice chat program. And also interview with the man behind ETG,
VD-Whiz. One of our main DJs, Ace Ventura does his weekly top 20 countdown
that is completely voted on by the listeners and by tuning in they have a
chance to win t-shirts and cd's. We are working with
TotalAssault.com
on the giveaway portions, they supply us with band merchandise that they
promote.
As for Quakecon, if I'm not mistaking there is 18
GUNr/GUN's trying to make it this year. So far the list of those planning
on making it this year is Ace Ventura, Ares, beta, Buggles, Bunneh,
ButtaKnife, Clay, Focus, Illogical, La5er, MadMan, Matrix, Rodent,
Semhirage Suga, Surfergirl, Wired and myself. This is the more than half
of our staff and are hoping all goes well so we can all have a blast
together at QuakeCon. I can't tell exactly what our plans are for us are
other than we hope to make some heads turn, in a good way of course.

[LadyGamers]: You have said from time to time you wish you
were in Texas, what makes you so driven to want to live out here? Even if
it is the state where id Software was founded, what
city would you desire to live in, and why?
[Rob]:
Well I was born in Austin Texas and had also lived in
San Antonio. I lived in Texas twice, when I lived there all I remember is
having fun growing up there. From all the moving I've done and all the
states I've lived in Texas has by far been the best place I've ever lived.
As for the city I want to live in I'm not sure just yet. I have been
thinking about Austin, San Antonio and possibily Houston. I'm thinking
about Austin because I was born there, San Antonio because Ilived there
the longest while in Texas, and Houston just for a new city in Texas to
experience.

[LadyGamers]: It seems that you are an id Software fanatic
with the whole Rocket Arena fever you have going on! What other games have
you played online?
[Rob]:
I played Counter Strike 1.5 and 1.6 for about 4 to 5
months and then our chan went on break from CS because of all of our
school schedules. We went from about 15 members down to 4 and just dropped
CS. It wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be.

[LadyGamers]: Gunradio's IRC on ETG is one of the most
packed irc channels I have seen around. What do you feel keeps your fans
coming back for more?! All of the female gamers you have who shoutcast?
Nah, it has to be the Tournament coverage!
[Rob]: I
think it's a combination of our new staff members we've brought in to add
a new flare to GUNRadio and also the tournaments and leagues we are
covering. Talented gamers who wish to give back to the communities they
play for helps a tremendous amount. No one can deny that sexy voiced
females talking on air for horny gamers helps keep an audience. "OMG DUDE
THIS IS A GIRL ON AIR LISTEN SHE SOUNDS HOT! CHECK HER OUT IN #GUNRadio".
