_____________________________________________________________INTERVIEW
[LadyGamers]: First
off, please let us know a little about your gaming background. Also let us
know more about the guild you're a member of Shadow Stalkers (SS).
[Tezo]: I've
always played games since I could reach a computer (hehe), started off
true gaming in the FPS's so SWG is my first RPG and I’m loving it.
Well basically in SWG, SS offered a friendly guild of members whom to enjoy SWG with, mostly
we specialize on hunting Jedi within the game and are starting to have
somewhat of a reputation, also we actively participate regularly in PVP
(Player Vs Player combat), and apart form that just have fun do take time
out to play through in game quests as a guild. We do have members which
are Rebels and Neutrals but the bulk of the guild are Imperials. Due to
player city restrictions we have merged with another Imperial guild <TMM>
to form one city, Imperial Landing, located on Lok. Before SS I was in <EGC>,
a neutral guild of mostly just crafters and players dedicated to a city,
that was the city of Rhuidean on Tatooine, which still have my vote for a
great city. :) Yea I don't live there anymore, but I loved the time I
spent there and return when I’m not busy. After EGC I decided to join a
more active Imperial guild with some of my friends, that was <ROS>, based
on Talus. We were a very tight knit guild, and very active with gaming
hours, with many players grinding through for Jedi but stopping to have
loads of fun along the way, in the way of PVP, organized hunts and quests.
Besides SWG, I’m also currently playing Lock On: modern air combat (hehe)
a bit of a change from an RPG but I’m a flight nut also. =) And when I
have the time or manage to pull myself away from SWG I’ll still be lurking
on some of the BF1942 servers mostly.

[LadyGamers]: Out
of all of the professions you have fiddled with, which one seems to stand
out the most for you? Is there an ideal goal you have in mind?
[Tezo]: So far to date I’ve mastered artisan, marksman, commando, carbineer,
rifleman, pikeman, medic and doctor. Not much of a list compared to some
other people, but then again I’m working through exploring the game not
grinding to rush for a Jedi character. I would of liked to become a bounty
hunter. I originally had this in mind when I started
playing but due to the huge points cost and somewhat unbalanced
professions in places I decided against it. I find Doctor so very useful
that I will try to keep it as my secondary profession as long as possible.
I would also like to experience another melee profession for combat soon,
as I currently have carbineer. I wouldn't call myself the crafting sort
though, doc crafting is enough for me. =)

[LadyGamers]:
Even though there are games focused on being a Jedi, there are a lot of people
who grind professions to become one in SWG, since they are such a unique
character to become. When you purchased SWG, did you have it in the back
of your mind the desire to be a Jedi in this game?
[Tezo]: When
I first read about SWG I thought it may be interesting to become
but I was never actively seeking it out, and still am not. Well to be
honest at the start of actually, I really didn’t think too much about it.
I’m happy just to see players working on their own chosen professions,
crafting, combat, entertainment and so on. I’m not a grinder and don’t
intend to be one, I’m just progressing through the game the way I want at my chosen speed, gaining friends and having lots of fun along the way
means more to me than any saber.

[LadyGamers]:
Since you are a Master Doctor, can you let us know what that consists of?
I have heard it is nothing but sitting in one place for a long time, while
everyone you buff gets to go have all of the fun. However, you don’t seem
like the type that can sit one place all day. What do you in-game besides
Doctor duties?
[Tezo]: Well
basically your main roles are to heal/cure/treat and buff (Enhance players
stats where they can take on tougher tasks, like hunting large creatures).
Usually this involves locating, gathering or purchasing good resources,
using them to experiment with in the process of producing good medical
supplies and then developing your own medical supply or mass producing
items to sell to other doctors or medics. But I only craft for myself
right now. Many players I have seen do buff for long periods of time,
maybe 5 hours plus but I wouldn’t stand more then 90 minutes of buffing
for example. It can be pretty hectic with a large queue and with more
people showing up than you can finish with at a time, it isn’t care free lol and i do find ex-doctors make the best customers. They must feel the
pain. =) But overall you can make a good enough income and if you enjoy
that support role it could be for you, doctor is very useful for being
self sufficient in the game, no one else can just get up and walk off to
hunt a rancor without searching for buffs, or while in PVP and running
from a combat medic’s Mind poison. =P Resource gathering can be fairly time
consuming, it may take a few days to search for a good source across many
planets, but once you’ve found some life is sweet again so just stock up!
=)

[LadyGamers]:
What keeps you coming back to SWG on a daily basis? Is it all the cute
dancers in the Cantina? ;) Once the expansion comes out, do you feel
you’ll spend more time with the game or just about the same?
[Tezo]: Ha-ha
dancers, nah I wouldn’t know anymore, I don’t look =P. I’m a married man
in-game nowadays, to my best friend in here, Jaala. She and I enjoy the
company of our friends and groups or just each other everyday we can. I
would say for me it has to be the overall community of the server, you see
the same people every day almost, get to know them well and enjoy the time
you spend together, the laughs and experiences in game your share
together, and the game’s sheer scale around you, that anytime you logon
you know the world has changed and other people have kept it moving, each
day something is going on or something has just happened. I don’t think
I’ll be able to spend much more time on SWG, even when the Space expansion
comes out, I do enough already! Lol, but I would like to indulge in the
space addition; it’s a much needed part of the experience. I’m sure this
game will keep my interest for a long time to come. Foremost it must be
the attachment of regular gaming friends to share the world with and get
to know. The game is nothing without the players, they are what make me
stay everyday.
