Nickname: Bootsie/BOOT$ <((SD))> a.k.a. WRAITH <((SD))>
Current game played: Delta Force 2
[DayWalker]: How did you get your start in DF2? [Bootsie]: I got my start in df2 four years ago when I was in college. The guy I was dating then played it all the time with his buds...it was a total guy thing when they got together and all they would talk about is df2--"Blah, blah, blah, that was a great server! Yahda, yahda, yahda, did you see my kill ratio? Tahee, tahee, tahee, I need another beer!" He kept bugging me to give it a try, so one evening, I gave it a shot (excuse the pun) with the single player missions and I really had fun with it! I ended up buying the game for myself without him knowing, and I became somewhat obsessed with it. I practiced for months. I knew which servers he played and when, so I started going on-line to play him without him realizing it. I know that's kind of a wicked thing to do, BUT IT WAS FUN SPOON FEEDING HIM LEAD! I've been a df2 fiend ever since. [DayWalker]: Rumor has it that you have over a million kills and counting -- is this true? [Bootsie]: A million kills?! lolololol!!!! You guys absolutely slay me! Some of my beloved squadmates wonder about that one too...umm...I'm not at liberty to say at this point in time, but I will disclose that I quit looking at my kill ratios after it passed 700,000. But you know what really sucks canal water is when I had to uninstall my df2 program over a year ago and erased my ratios--I'll leave it to your imagination to do the math! [DayWalker]: You play with the sound turned off. Are you crazy? Why do you do this??? [Bootsie]: Yes, I play with my sound off, but only in my server to curtail the "host advantage", or in my case, the "hostess advantage". I like to listen to music while I do battle, but I do play with sound when I'm in another server. Am I krazy? Can someone help me take this butterfly net off my head? I don't want to be late for my electro-shock treatment again...it's fun! It's fun! It's fun! [DayWalker]: How does your squad determine who to make allies? [Bootsie]: We're are VERY picky about selecting our allies. When we are approached with a possible treaty, we investigate their website and visit their servers under different names to see how they operate...just a precaution to assure they're stand up kinda guys interested in us strictly for df2 gaming. We hold a vote in our polls, and if all my sistren are in agreement, that squad alliance is on a two week probationary period before we make the treaty "official". [DayWalker]: What's in store for you and your squad? Will you girls be moving on to Blackhawk Down or TaskForce Dagger? [Bootsie]: Hmmm...Diaboli was born in df2 and will probably remain there, although some of my sisters do play DFLW, df2 is our home. [DayWalker]: There's another rumor going around that in real life you are a Corporate Lawyer... the rest of us believe that you are not so, that you're really a highly trained assassin in DF2! [Bootsie]: LMAO!!!! I love that one!! No, I'm not a lawyer, in reality I work in an advertising firm. I hold a B.A. in Advertising and Business Management and minored in Industrial Psychology (and peeps at the office STILL complain about the way I like to have my coffee..."Petrolium Pudding" is what they call it. I mean, what's wrong with foaming at the mouth?! It's fun! It's fun! It's fun! Someone hand me my lobster bib!). [DayWalker]: Who created your website? [Bootsie]: Ahhh, our ever evolving website! I had help from our very own--the lovely Foxy Roxy and the ever enchanting Nikita. I need to emphasize that the site's theme and overall texture is dictated by the rest of the heartbreakers of the mighty <((SD))>... can I get a HOOAH?! [DayWalker]: How do you make sure that the players that you recruit for your clan are really girls? [Bootsie]: Roger Wilco voice test or the VON (Voice-Over-Net) in the df2 program. In fact, I've got two ladies as potential sisters-in-arms that will be doing their voice test with me this weekend. [DayWalker]: Is it tough being a girl playing a combat simulation game? [Bootsie]: Ooooo, a heavy question that's gender specific. I like this one... CaliGirl, ya got a soap box around here for me to stand on? Well, kiddo, take a knee and sing me the blues! Actually, attitudes in the df2 community towards women players are turning around for the better. I remember a few years ago, there weren't too many ladies playing this game and it was kind of an oddity to see a girl soldier character running around. I figured if the peeps that created the df series were targeting a male market then they wouldn't have put female characters in the program to begin with. A few years ago it was tough, if some guys found out you were a girl, you were subjected to some pretty harsh verbal abuse, and you had two choices: deal with it, or leave the server. It saddens me to think that a valuable tool like the internet will be abused in such a manner to belittle or degrade another person that likes to play for fun and gets mistreated because she is a girl...I admire ALL my teammates for their tenacity and the way they handle themselves when faced with this kind of situation. I'm proud to be affiliated with class acts like the girls of Diaboli; they're all tough and personify courage, honor, strength, and valor--everything that a woman is. But, like I said, times have changed, and there are many, many dudes out in the df2 arena that support our squad and play in our servers on a regular basis, we absolutely adore them and think they're the bee's knees! [DayWalker]: Do you girls make your own maps for your servers? [Bootsie]: Let's break this down for ya:
[DayWalker]: Will you run for oval office? If you do, you have my vote! :) [Bootsie]: OMG! "Madam President Bootsie"?! lolololololololol!!!!!! I think the Enquirer would have a field day with that one as well as Cosmo! Ya, otay, my first presidential act is that YOU MUST DRINK SOME OF MY COFFEE! No, no, really...it's fun! It's fun! It's fun!! Where's that lobster bib?! Related Links: Chat hangout:
