_____________________________________________________________INTERVIEW

[LadyGamers]:
Tell us about your clan. How long have you been around, and how did the clan form?

[Deimos]:  FLC was started about a year ago when a few real life friends decided to part their respective clans and form one of their own. We have since expanded our ranks and made a lot of new friends along the way. I would say we are both a competitive and a fun clan. If you can’t have fun, whats the point? ;)

[Thricky]: FLC was formed in the fall of 2002. We have been recruiting players based not only on skills but also on attitude. Most of FLC live in Houston, so we used to hang out online and in person. It was mad fun while I lived there.

[LadyGamers]: Do you think RA3 should be an official tourney at QuakeCon? What makes it qualified to deserve that kind of attention? Will you be attending Quakecon 2004 even if RA3 doesn't make it into the events schedule next year? Would you compete in another mod in 2004 if that happens?

[Deimos]:  I would really like to see Rocket Arena as an official Qcon tourney. It’s a great mod that has lasted a long time, and is finally getting the updates that it needs. It is a very fast paced game most of the time, which also makes it fun to watch for spectators. I’ve enjoyed playing in the byoc RA3 tournaments the past 2 years at Qcon and plan on attending Qcon 04 whatever the games may be.

[Thricky]: An official tourney? Definitely, yes. The beauty of RA3 lies in its simplicity. It's a game where you don't need to worry about sitting around defending flags. You don't worry about running around a map looking for weapons, or, God forbid, spawning far from the red armor at the beginning of the match and giving your oponent the upper hand right from the start. In RA3 all that matters is one thing, and it's the essence Quake: Skills.  RA3 needs to be given a serious chance in tourneys and especially at Quakecon. Only then will the mod be given the respect it deserves, and then you'll see professional teams and players start appearing.  I will definitely be at Quakecon next year. I didn't get enough of my first one, I guess I'll have to sleep less next time.

[LadyGamers]: How has your clan been preparing for upcoming CAL matches? Do you have a set schedule of practices or just get on when you see others?

[Deimos]:  I would say we have a variety of methods. We will set times for practices, discuss strategies and techniques, we play lots of scrims, and try to get the occasional inner clan scrim.

[Thricky]: Yes, we practice in pubs and scrims. We get together to discuss about the game, mistakes, strategies, etc.  We share experiences and try new things all of the time. Like going upper in map11 … just kidding ;P. But basically, we go through a series of trial and error, and practice, practice, practice.

````````````````````````````````````````
[LadyGamers]: Of all the RA3 focused clans out there what was it about the one you joined that attracted you the most?
[Deimos]:  The fact that I was friends with a lot of the people in real life. It just seemed like it would be a lot of fun to be in a clan with people I got to see more than just online.
[Thricky]: I joined FLC because of the people that plays there.  I saw them playing in pubs and I thought they were cool and good thing I was right. I have never had more fun in any other clan. On top of this, they give seriousness to the game and push all of their members to a competitive level. It does make a difference.
````````````````````````````````````````

[LadyGamers]:  Do you think your clan has a chance of being the champion of your division in the CAL finals? If not, who do you think will be?

[Deimos]:  I think we have a definite chance. The hardest part is getting to the finals. Once you’re there, anything can happen. If we do make it to the finals we are most likely going to be facing 4i who are undefeated this season in our division. It will be tough. I think it will be a great match whoever the teams will be.

[Thricky]:

a) We have a chance
b) No we don’t
c) Deimos sux

Now seriously answering your question, we are prepared to battle any team. We practice as much as time allows and that give us confidence needed to do a good job in the CAL finals. Who will be the champion? Only time will tell.

````````````````````````````````````````
[LadyGamers]: Are there female players in your clan? If not, why not? Do they participate in CAL and the playoffs?
[Deimos]:  Yes we have 2 female members in our clan---you, beta!!---and MsHep.You've both been in the clan since day one. You've been very active, even playing in some of the CAL matches. Lately you've been understandably busy with your newborn Ashlyn; well I guess that makes three female members =]. MsHep is the fiancée to Hepcat, and although she's only recently strated playing the game, she has always been a nice addition to the team.
[Thricky]: there are hmm... let's see... one... two... three... hee! Ermm.. wait... Monoxide's not a girl... erm... there are only two girls that hang out with us in IRC, and only one of them actually plays with us a lot, when she isn't conducting interviews!  Participating in the playoffs it's not a matter of being male/female in FLC. It's more a matter of an exhaustive study on the performance of our elements according to the specific situation that we face at the present time. See hepcat? And you didn't want to trust me on this interview. I'm almost done and I didn't say anything about the OGC thingy we installed the other day. ;) JUST KIDDING!!
````````````````````````````````````````

[LadyGamers]: Have you ever fallen down in public?

[Deimos]:  All the time =)

[Thricky]: Fallen down in publ... what? Wait, am I still in the same RA3 interview?
