_____________________________________________________________INTERVIEW [seppuku]:
In the past couple months, HaDeS (Christie) gave birth to
Alexis Marie and pie (Ashley) gave birth to Dylan. HaDeS played
competitively till the very last week of her pregnancy and pie went
inactive a few months ago (she teaches elementary school so she's pretty
busy!). Both ladies are now inactive because of the little ones. I'm
pretty sad over the loss of pie and HaDeS because they were both
starters and the void left by those two ladies has affected us in the
latter portion of CAL-ra3 season 2 because we had to get used to a new
lineup fairly quickly in the middle of the season. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: You're an eSports writer at CAL. What events do you cover? Do you write for other websites or publications? [seppuku]: I should probably apologize because I haven't written an article in months *gg laziness*. But I mostly interview clans that are doing well at the moment and have strong potential. I also interview people involved in the hot topic of the moment (i.e. the shadows shizzy). I also write for a couple European websites because I admin over there as well. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: As many all-female clans out there, it is hard to tell whether someone who is trying to join is truly female or not. Does BadGirls RA3 team go through any specific precautions in order to find out if someone trying to join is female? [seppuku]: We have a pretty straightforward policy to check if an interested player is female or not. I do a voice check where I speak to the player for a while on ventrilo (voice communication program). It's easy to tell if a player is female or not by just speaking for a few minutes. We also use voice chat for all our practices/scrims/matches so it's fairly hard to get past our voice check. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Since you are a female player, do you ever have any guys trying to hit on you while you play or even chatting? What is your usual response to them? [seppuku]: I've heard more than a few females complain about this and to be honest, I've never encountered any major problems in this area. I just try to play the game and not turn the Quake 3 console into an IRC textbox. Most people don't even know I'm female because I always alias unless I'm in a match (I heart aliases). If I do get any jabs because of my gender, I usually don't bother dignifying the attacks with a response. I don't like encouraging the mindless insults of immature players. But I've been known to turn into an uber biatch if a fellow clan member gets insulted in any way so be nice to my girls. >:o```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Many new games are coming out very soon such as Doom III, and Quake 4. Do you have any worries that RA3 will die off after they come out? How long do you think you will continue playing RA3? [seppuku]: I'm sure RA3 and Quake 3 in general will lose players to newer games so I'm not really worried about it. Personally, I like death match much more than RA3 so once the clan decides to switch games, I'll abandon RA3. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: What is your favorite quote that you often use?
