Interview - Slugs
_____________________________________________________________INTERVIEW [Slugs]: It feels like X-D has been around since the dawn of time :) Well, maybe not. But it has been around longer than I have been in it. The clan started back in Quake 1 days with the founder and leader Resdog[X-D]. We have many exceptional ppl in our clan that play and some that don't. Take Menthol[X-D] and Viruseater[X-D] prolly two of our most beloved for the things they bring to clan. Virus brings Clanservers.net which he owns and runs for servers and what not and Menthol who is just one of the best web designers I have ever seen. They are praised time and time again. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Do you think RA3 should be an official tourney at QuakeCon? What makes it qualified to deserve that kind of attention? Will you be attending Quakecon 2004 even if RA3 doesn't make it into the events schedule next year? Would you compete in another mod in 2004 if that happens? [Slugs]: RA has been around just as long as any base Quake mod out there and is played by thousands. I think it already gets the attention it deserves to be in competative competitions like Quakecon and I would like to see more team oriented competitions at quakecon instead of solely letting one person get all the glory. Now more then ever with the RA3 team updating the mod again new features have been added to the game just like any other mod out there that is played at Quakecon. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: How has your clan been preparing for upcoming CAL matches? Do you have a set schedule of practices or just get on when you see others? [Slugs]: We just play for the fun of it, nothing serious about it. If ppl are on we play, if not, oh well. If we win that's great if not, then so be it. We have already held our number one spots in both RA3 and CTFS which a lot of clans don't wanna admit but they know who they are. :) ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Of all the RA3 focused clans out there what was it about the one you joined that attracted you the most? [Slugs]: X-D is like a home away from home. We are all like brothers. In some aspect or another all the guys know one other on a personal basis which makes getting along in a large group easier. I chose X-D for that reason--absolutely no punks allowed!!! We go far beyond playing games as a clan. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Do you think your clan has a chance of being the champion of your division in the CAL finals? If not, who do you think will be? [Slugs]: Well, I would like to say yes but to be honest I believe its gonna be 4i. Those guys are sick but we currently hold 4th in our division. ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Are there female players in your clan? If not, why not? Do they participate in CAL and the playoffs? [Slugs]: No, there aren't any girls in X-D. Some guys feel that this is their home away from home and would like to see it stay a guy thing. Most of X-D are older guysand most of us have wives or fiances. And yes, they do play in CAL; I know clan BGC (Bad Girls Clan) is all girls, and they play in the league. |W4T|NuTmO (my fiance) plays. :) ```````````````````````````````````````` [LadyGamers]: Have you ever fallen down in public? [Slugs]: Yes I have fallen down in public. I used to be a skaterboy!! So, I guess you can say I have fallen in public a few thousand times.:) ```````````````````````````````````````` |
