[CaliGirl]: It seems like the most sought for game at the time is Doom 3. Do you have a certain game you're looking forward to in 2003?

[Myshra]: I am TOTALLY anticipating Doom 3! I saw the public preview in the theater at Quakecon 2k2 and was floored by what I saw! It just leads to wanting MORE! I'm currently saving up for the great upgrade to run it nice and smoothly. Quake 4 is up there in anticipation too. Even though much hasn't been said, I'm expecting Raven to turn out something nice and kick a$$. Back to Stroggos we go!

For the true geek in me, I'm real interested in how Star Wars Galaxies is going to turn out. Massively Multiplayer RPG's kinda scare me as how daunting and time consuming they can be, but I have been known to put some time into AO characters. However considering how Lucas is planning to milk it for all that it's worth, I'm planning to wait to hear about it before I go slap down $50 for the game then play subscription fees.

On the mod front, I wait ever so patiently for updates and fixes to Urban Terror. This mod is like crack. It becomes a sick emotional involvement from the get go. Its the one thing I play with a true competitive zeal now. And like any good vice, I try to turn everyone I know on it. So far I've gotten a family friend, as well as his wife and kids into it. Next person I'm working on is my Dad. If you haven't tried it, there is something wrong with you. I look forward to good things from SID (Silicon Ice Development) in the coming year.

[CaliGirl]: You came from a well known female gamer clan like Psycho Men Slayers. Is the anything you miss about the retired clan?

[Myshra]: Yes. So many things. Mostly the close contact we all had. Since we all sort of faded out, I don't speak to many of them as often as I'd like. Most of us are very busy with real life, as it often gets in the way. I know they are all doing well as I hear about most of them through people I know.

I miss a lot of the connections we had as a clan. Being a clan of all women tends to attract 'groupies' and people who are supporters of the cause. Some of whom were developers0, or 'celebrities' of the gaming community. It was neat to have that kind of status when going to my first Quakecon with my PMS tag in 1999.

Above all I miss the closeness we all shared. We were like sisters. Of course there were internal squabbles, and disagreements at times. But things usually worked themselves out. For me, PMS was my start in the gaming community. My life would probably be different if not for my involvement in PMS. From games I learned more about computers and information technology than what any school has ever taught me. I will forever remember the PMS girls and the impact they've had one me.

[CaliGirl]: From a background of Thunderwalker you must have been around in the gaming community for a fare amount of time! In what way do you feel the gaming community has changed since then?

[Myshra]: The game community has come LONG way. Some for the better, some not. Being female in the gaming community, its made leaps and bounds. There are still the usual, people who think that all girls who play games are ugly and lesbians who have no lives. But that view has diminished since the days of when I first started out. The simple fact of female models was the first big steps taken of acceptance of female gamers. Now that it's standard practice, it's much more inviting for women to play and participate in the community. Its great to see that there more women than ever playing games and kicking ass. I've been to every Quakecon since 1999, and I remember there being something like 20-50 women there in total. That number has risen in leaps and bounds since then, and what's better, is that they are gamers, not booth babes or 'tagalongs'.

It makes me proud to be part of an online community now that supports female gaming the way it does. The old days are gone.. those types who still want to make an issue of it better wake up! If there are still women getting guff, out there, just ignore them, it makes them look like more of a tool. The majority of guys who play think its cool that they are playing with women.

[CaliGirl]: Have you seen Lord of the Rings - Two Towers yet? If so, what did you think about it?

[Myshra]: YES! It was tremendous. I've seen it twice so far, and may just go see it again. There were a few book discrepancies, but all in all it was a great movie. By far it was the best medieval battle I have ever seen. It was layed out in time just right and it sets up the coming conflicts very well.

[CaliGirl]: We finally have these winter holidays over with. What's your favorite thing about the winter season of holidays?

[Myshra]: Heh, in all honesty, I hate winter. Christmas is not high on my list of holidays either. Its become too commercialized and a big mess trying to get gifts for family. The spirit is lost on so many.

I live in the Northeast, I got a foot of snow on Christmas. The white Xmas was nice, but a foot of snow in general is not always a good time. I did a lot of digging out the day after.

All in all, spending time with my family is the best part about winter holidays. I spent this Christmas with my Father. I looked forward to New Year's and a good deal of parties :-) The rest of my family also gets together just after New Year's at one of my aunt's houses and we all do our gift exchanges and big dinner then. All that's left to look forward to after that is spring thaw!

[CaliGirl]: What is it like being in such a popular clan like Carnage Cowboys? Do you get better or worse treatment for the name Cowboy?

[Myshra]: I really don't think there is a big difference in the treatment at all. I enjoy being in a popular clan. I most definitely consider myself as old school, and the clan its self also carries that as well. Its a bit of respect I think that I've earned over the years. As far as the whole 'Cowboy' thing is concerned, I haven't really run into a gender issue. If someone wants to give me guff about it, go right ahead. Just be prepared to get some back. Most people know the kind of take the clan has on supporting the community, as well as the weight we carry. Maybe they just think twice about it...?? I love being part of CC, in some way I feel I'm making that support effort. I've also known most of CC for along time, even while I was in PMS. Becoming part of CC was just being able to formally compete in matches with them. I already felt that close connection with most of the others in the clan.
