`Huntoze [Total Control] is one of those type of guys that just amuses you with one saying, he makes it last longer than a taste of chocolate! This guy not only runs a CTF League in Australia, he's also very creative with stories! [About Him]

`Reflux [FemmeBots + Boyfriends] likes to taste and see many flavors of the FPS world. He's jumped from Jediknight to Golden Eye to HalfLife to Unreal Tournament to Quake III Arena. Talk about a guy who knows where the action is!  [About Him]

[LadyGamers]: Tell us one thing that makes your clan stand out among all others?

[Huntoze]: We're a bunch of sexy guys who perform in a male stripper troup when we're not playing computer games. :p   Honestly, there's not much about us that makes us stand out performance wise, unless your talking about non gaming related issues. :P   We're all good friends and enjoy playing Quake3 CTF. We have heaps of laughs on Teamspeak while playing. We're probably one of the oldest Quake3 Clans in Australia that is still together and active in the community. Competition wise, we're probably in the top 30% of Australian Quake3 Clans. While we may not beat the better teams in Oz we always provide decent competition and a few laughs.

[Reflux]: I don't think there is one thing that makes fB/fBB stand out, I think its many things. The clan was originally a female only clan, but with people moving overseas, interstate and dropping out of the quake scene the girls allowed their boyfriends to join in :). With a clan based on girlfriends playing with their boyfriends I think this is what makes this clan so unique.

[LadyGamers]: Name 3 gamers you respect the most.

[Huntoze]: Well I can't really name 3. I respect all my clan mates, great friends and always there to help out. Grizz, Leck, Disco, Extreme, Cracky, Ruey (although he has issues poor boy) he really needs to meet a lady gamer. :p

[Reflux]:  The 3 gamers that I respect the most would be Python, lpb and Huntz.

  • Python is one of the most laid back people that you would ever meet and he manages to carry this into his gaming, if you ever look at photo's when he is playing it looks like he is asleep he is so relaxed. To be able to keep this sort of composure all the time and not being arrogant about his skill are the reasons I respect him.
  • lpb has this uncanny way of being the nicest person you will ever meet on a server. Always nice even when abuse gets tossed in her direction and more then likely the most liked person in the Australian Quake 3 scene, I think also her ability to take it to most of the guys out there would be reason's why I respect her.
  • Huntz, this guy would be the only person able to get 30 hours out of a 24 hour day. He has done so much for Quake 3 in Australia be it in the way of highlight movies, or helping running OQCL, or actually playing the game in a manner that makes you run and hide would be the reasons I hold him in such high respect.

[LadyGamers]: Why do you think clans retire so quickly, is there a disconnect some where?

[Huntoze]: Well I can only go by what I've seen with Aussie clans, but the younger gamers seem to hop about clans like rabbits on heat. There are only a few Quake 3 clans in Australia who have stuck together and have the same core group of players in their ranks. With the CTF competition, new clans seem to spring up every season with the main aim of creating the strongest clan to win the comp. After the season has finished that clan normally disbands and another one forms. I have to be honest, I don't really follow any other gaming communities other than Quake 3. The Quake 3 community here is Australia has been slowly eaten away at by the newer games coming out. One thing that is surprising though is the CTF competition is starting to attract a lot of Counter Strike clans. I'm not sure if it's because they are sick of playing CS or have only just realized the fast action pace of Quake 3 over CS, but it's good to see some new clans forming even if they are ex CS players.

[Reflux]:  I think the only reasons for a clan to disappear/retire would be due to lack of interest or not having the right reason's for forming a clan in the first place. I find that alot of clan's out there now a days are formed on the basis of winning, and the focus on having fun has been lost somewhere. If a clan is formed on the basis of fun then you will have a clan that will continue with other's wanting to join in.

[LadyGamers]: Do you believe in the term; good things must come to an end?

[Huntoze]: Yeh sure but in relation to Quake 3, nothing has come out in the market that matches Quake 3 in terms of speed and pure fragging bliss. UT2003 was certainly a flop and never really took off in Australia. It's a shame really because I'm sure most of the Quake 3 community would love to migrate over to a new game that offered the same fast paced gameplay and feel of Quake3 with updated graphics, new gaming modes etc.

[Reflux]:  NEVAH, if something is good why end it? Good things never come to an end. People just get lazy. :)

```````````````````````````````
[LadyGamers]: Name a console game you would want on PC, so you can play with your mouse and keyboard!
[Huntoze]: HALO!! which should be out real soon. Hope the multiplayer is good. Looks promising. Just hope its not slow. :D
[Reflux]:  I think the only console game that I would love to see on pc would be Golden Eye. That was the best DM/FFA game ever!!! I would say Halo, but from news that I have read around the place it look's like Microsoft are going to release it and CPL is going to run competitions for it.
[LadyGamers]: Create your greatest LAN scenario of all time!
[Huntoze]: Ok well I got a pretty warped imagination so don't hold it against me.
The setting is a huge mansion located in the middle of a national park by the water. Kind of a spooky old place when looking at it from the outside. Cars arrive via a dirt road and gamers start to unpack their computers and drag them inside. The first thing that strikes them is the dark lighting inside and obvious horror movie type theme to the place. Cages hang from the ceilings lit up with a faint red glow. Huge black curtains fall from the ceiling concealing whatever might lie behind them. Instead of tables lining the darkly lit hall, dark boothes complete with curtains, VR Goggles, headsets and gloves sit waiting to be setup.
While the gamers start setting up their computers the music comes on, a heavy beat setting the scene for what will be the ultimate lan party ever.
The mansion starts to fill up and gamers start plugging themselves into the VR gear. Once setup they are transported into a virtual reality world which consists of a huge coluseum with mazes, large halls, long corridors, slimey water and a huge abundence of arsenal.
This is not your average deathmatch game. This is Deathmatch in a virtual reality world. You look around you and see your opponents doing the same. Standing there in awe of the beautifully rendered world which they have entered. Suddenly you are snapped out of your dream state as your best mate sends a rocket screaming at your head. You can actually feel it hit you and your knocked over. You check your hud, you mate has taken off half your life. Of course this is only deathmatch and after he finishes you off with a shotgun and you see your body explode from the out of body viewer you respawn in another part of the coluseum and go after him.
After an hour or so of fragging you hear the distant beat of music. It sounds familiar. You take off your VR goggles and head set and the music is nearly deafening. Rod Zombie is up on stage appearing from behind one of those huge black curtains hanging from the ceiling. The cages you first noticed when entering the house are filled with scantily clad women dancing to the beat of Dead Girl Superstar. People dressed as ghouls and goblins walk around carrying trays of drinks for the gamers. You don't know whether to dive into the huge mosh pit in front of the stage or escape reality and join the CTF match that has just started in the virtual world.
This is gaming heaven you think to yourself as you down your first bourbon and coke offered to you by a girl in a tight fitting skeleton outfit.
/smacks himself back into reality. :)
[Reflux]:  Greatest LAN scenario, hmmm tough one. I guess you could always go with a huge million player LAN with huge backbones ect. but I'm actually a big fan of the smaller, friendlier LAN's. Say 100 people all interacting and enjoying a game or two. That would be tops. :)
```````````````````````````````

[LadyGamers]:  Finish this sentence.

[Huntoze]: The more FPS games are released, the more it makes you want to tell developers to get off their boring fat asses and get creative.

Seriously, the standard of FPS that is being released lately is shocking. Unreal 2 for instance. Besides the graphics, which weren't exactly ground breaking, what was new in terms of game play. Chrome, can't believe I wasted my time downloading the demo. Developers should take note of games like Alien Vs Predator 1 & 2. Great fun games to play. Honestly the only FPS games other than Quake3 that I have enjoyed lately is AvP 2 and Soldier of Fortune 2.

SOF2 simply because it a mindless shooting rampage that does it really well. I know it doesn't bring anything new to the genre, except of course the copious amounts of body parts. But they haven't lost site of the fun factor of gaming like other games tend to do. AvP 2 was simply a creative masterpiece IMO. The three different modes, the atmosphere. Great fun game to play.

Most of the FPS being released at the moment just don't have the atmosphere or fun factor that is need in an FPS.

That said, I can't wait for Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. :D

[Reflux]:  The more FPS games are released, the more it makes you want to test them out.

I really think suppliers should release games with a test period, say sell them for 10 dollars and if you like it you buy an activation code/cd/program. I think they would be surprised how much this eliminates people getting illegal copies of games.
