Favourite Games: Medal Of Honor, of course...Max Payne, Mafia, Unreal Tournament, Black &
White, Tribes 1, Serious Sam.

Former Clans: >DI< for 8 months in T1 and 'merged' with another team and became FU
[LG]: How did you come to be involved in the wonderful world of online gaming?
[NurseRatched]: A co-worker of my husband told him of a game called Tribes back in April or May of '98. My husband then brought it home and we tried it out. Of course, we loved it:)
My hubby and I played Tribes mainly. We also played Unreal Tournament once in awhile. We had to play on a shared 56K so, we didn't play a whole lot of games. It was frustrating but..we did hold our own and were often considered 2 of the top 56ker gamers for Tribes.
I love online gaming...The spirit of competition, meeting people, and the fun.
[LG]: What do your family and friends think of your very time consuming gaming hobby?
[NurseRatched]: LOL We had to go here, didn't we?? The main thing that ticked my friends and relatives off was: Trying to get through to me on the phone.
My father-in-law HATES computers and is very concerned for our safety. He always has a comment or 2 about computers and his thought of us using them. He is a great man and I avoid the topic of computers with him out of respect.
My mother-in-law and my friends pretty much gave up a losing battle with trying to get me away from the computer.
We did eventually get cable in our area (Feb 2001). Everyone was happy! People could get through to me on the phone...My hubby and I was able to play with a lower ping:)
[LG]: How did you get started with the OGL, and which games do you work with currently?
[NurseRatched]: I played with Applebomb (who was an LO for the Tribes UR Ladders) for the longest time in Tribes. We became pretty good friends.
After he retired from Tribes and from the ladders, he handed the reigns over to me. Circumstances arrose and I wasn't able to be an admin after some time.
A couple years later, still competing on the OGL for Medal Of Honor, I seen that there was an admin spot
open for MOH. So, I applied, interviewed with Relentless (who is a great LO) and currently the
admin for OGL MOH:AA 2v2, MOH Real, MOH Team Match and Objective.
[LG]: Based on your OGL experiences, which game's community makes you think "*phew* glad I don't
work on that ladder", and why do you think they're rowdier than other communities you're familiar with?
[NurseRatched]: I feel the admins for the Counter Strike ladders have it tough. I feel there is alot more cheating involved in that game and new ones seem to pop up every day.
The admins there have to be very knowledgeable of these and to battle them as they surface.
[LG]: Are you currently competing in any ladders or tournaments yourself? If so, what's your
record like, and do you think your opponents take you less seriously because you're female?
[NurseRatched]: My team and I are currently competing on the OGL MOH:AA Objective and
Objective Realism ladders.
We are on the MOH:AA Objective, objective realism and Spearhead ladders through TWL.
My team also plays on the Objective ladder through Squadgames.
As a female gamer, I think people didn't take me seriously at first. I got propositioned ALOT and alot did try to psych me out, thinking that by doing this, I'd never touch an online game again.
They were wrong and actually encouraged me to press on and get better then they were.
Some, I feel, was almost afraid to play normally. They didn't want to hurt my feelings LOL.
My thought was "You know what? whatever! I didn't ask you to slack off because I'm a girl...I'm not fragile and I'm going to kick your butt!"
After awhile, I did get the respect I was entitled to and wanted..as a gamer. When people played me, they gave it their all....
Being a female gamer is just a bonus:)
[LG]: What game(s) are you most looking forward to the release of?
[NurseRatched]: None, at this time. We play what we can. If we like the game, we stick with it..if not, they become dust collectors heh.
[LG]: Are you currently romantically attached? If so, are you with a fellow gamer? If not,
would you rather date a gamer or non-gamer, and why?
[NurseRatched]: My now husband and I were high school sweethearts. We met when we were 17 years old. At age 20, we had our daughter (who is soon to be 12 in January) and at age 23, we had our son (who turned 9 in Aug). 14 years after being together, we got married June 15th, 2001.
My husband, Nathan AKA JuckingFerk, is also a fellow gamer and founder of our team, =FU=.
