I N T E R V I E W
[CaliGirl]: From a name
like Nemmy to WildChild to Demon bunny and snot. You seem to be a person
who likes to go under cover with various aliases. Is there a moment you
can share when your gamer friends didn't know who you were at first?
[Wildchild]: Most
of the names I play as haven't really been used to go
under
cover as such, but there was an alias I had a lot of fun with back in
my
Quake 2 days. I am a member of an all weap Freeze Tag clan called
Tender
Loving Killers. TLK is known as a fun bunch of people who show good
sportsmanship and never talk trash in servers. I was a decent Q2
player, and
was pretty good with the railgun. The Q2 Freeze Tag community was a
very
small close knit group with about 8 clans if that and one or two
popular
servers that we all played on every nite. When a new person showed up
in the
mod everyone noticed them. One day I was sort of in a bad mood and just
wanted to frag and not chat kinda thing. I made up the name BarStar and
went
in and played. I guess I was playing kind of cheap, chat killing, spawn
killing, just being a real llama and people were getting pretty
annoyed,
throwing comments at me and I gave it right back. I used that name
quite a
few times and was getting people pretty mad at me.
One night I was
having a
very good game, you know where you just dont miss, and omg the whining
I was
hearing, stuff like omg noway, bs, bot! etc I was killing myself
laughing.
Just before the end of the map I changed my name to {TLK}Nemmy and
everyone
was OMG is that you Nem? We all had a good laugh. I did sort of the
same
thing in Quake 3 with the name St@rbuck. I never told anyone that alias
was
me, but I guess they know now hehe.
[CaliGirl]: Iron Thong
seems to stand out as a creative nick. Did you get treated any different
using that nick name?
[Wildchild]: The credit
for that nickname goes to my best friend Tinkerhell.
She
was using the alias IronBra as kind of a joke, you cant kill me I have
my
iron bra on kind of thing. I was using IronUndies for awhile but she
said oh
thats too boring use IronThong. Next thing ya know we had a bunch of
Irons
playing with us. It's just something we do for fun, to liven up a
server.
One night we will get everyone playing as the Bradys, next night it
might be
fav rock bands. So no, I haven't really been treated differently using
that
name, its just all in fun.
[CaliGirl]: What is the
first movie you saw that made you fall head over heals for Vin Diesel?
[Wildchild]: That would
have to be the movie Pitch Black.
[CaliGirl]: There seems
to be a history with the Ladies of Quake. Can you talk a little about the
clan? How it started, where you first heard about it? Is it still active?
[Wildchild]: None of us
were members of LoQ long enough to really say we have a history with them.
I was only a member for a month or so. My friend Sh4dy had joined LoQ and
told me they were recruiting to put a couple of teams in a tourney so I
joined up. When the tourney was over some of us newer members decided to
move on. The clan was just too big with 15 or so members and only 4 or 5
needed to play in a match. So Akina, Sh4dy and I moved on and formed
Twisted Sistahz. Silky, Summie, Xaiolynn and Icey followed us shortly
after that. LoQ is still active. As a matter of fact we had an OGL ladder
match with them just recently. LoQ is a great bunch of ladies and we
consider them our friends.
[CaliGirl]: Real Life
Shows like Surreal Life, I'm a Celebrity get me out of here, Batchelor,
High School Reunion to name a few have increased in numbers. What if they
made a show like this but it consisted of a handful of gamers or even
professional gamers on how they live their gamer life all in one house.
Would you watch this show? Or what would it need to peak your interest to
watch it?
[Wildchild]: I pretty
much gave up watching TV when I started gaming about 5
years ago. I haven't watched any of those reality shows, well except for
The
Osbornes. OMG that is one funny show. I don't think a show about gamers
would
go over too well. "Outsiders" wouldn't understand it, and I
don't know
about
other gamers but I'd rather be online gaming than watching someone on TV
doing it. Gamers are a unique group of people with our online lives,
our own
lingo, politics etc. I have told a few real life friends about my
gaming
and they kind of gave me a strange look and said "so you play this game
and
chat and hangout with people you don't really know?" They just
don't
get
it
at all.
[CaliGirl]: What do you
feel makes the Twisted Sistahz clan stand out among other clans in general
(all female or coed).
[Wildchild]: What makes
us stand out. hmm... I guess the fact that we
aren't
just
a group of giggling women out there flirting in servers. We are a small
close group of friends who share a passion for gaming. We are a fun
bunch to
hang with, but when it comes match time we put on our game face, pull
out
our railguns and take care of business. We can hold our own. I think we
stand out because we show great class when we win, we aren't out there
bragging about what clan we "owned" and if we lose we lose graciously.
Shoutouts - >
I wanna give a big shoutout to my hubby Infernal who got me started in this
gaming stuff, to my TLK clan brothers and sister...woot! TLK rocks! to my
best friend Kreepy aka Tinkerhell, hi sis cant wait to see ya at the end
of the month. A big hi to clans MoH, OtH, L0D, DLC, PQ, Xhale, and IAF,
and to
my friend D3m0nikk from clan Monarchs Of Hell who just bought a kewl
internet/gaming cafe in Hollywood called BadLanz where I will be attending
a big LAN the end of March.
