The Tiny Interview

Lady Survivors is generally regarded the first local all-female CS clan. After the initial furore, they faded from the scene, having never participated in any tournament. With the help of a magnifying glass, I manage to catch the elusive Tiny, and find out more about LS, why they've disappeared, and what they have in store for the testosterone-fueled, male dominated CS scene.

Hi Tiny. Tell us about your clan, Lady Survivors! How did you come to be, and who are the members?
-[Ls]- was formally known as [nBk] ( no boys kaki ) We had to change our clan tags because there was another clan with that tag. We started off with 3 former nBk members ( tiny, diva and shiva )

But you need 5 members to form a proper tournament-ready cs clan!
We do not intend to recruit memberS at the moment. That is why we're gonna form a proper tournament-ready cs clan only after our SPM

Sometime during LS's lifetime, weren't Blueberry and Inter members too?
They were until we decided to go on different tracks

Why? blueberry is heading a new clan now. Do you know anything about it?
We decided to put studies as our priority. Yes we have heard about them

So the first official all-girl CS clan is currently inactive until the end of this year. What is Blueberry's new clan called? What do you think of it?
Yeah, until end of this year. Blueberry's new clan is called fatale, if i've not mistaken...
no comments but i wish them the best anyway ;)

Are there any other all-girl clans that have since sprouted following LS's inactivity?
Yes of course. There's also [cwa]

Any opinion of CWA (Chicks With Attitude)? Have you seen them play, or gone against them in a public server?
I've not seen them play as a team but i did play with one or two of the [cwa] members once or twice in a public server. They're pretty good

Well, back to you. When did you start playing CS? Played any games before that?
I started playing Cs in early 2000. I did try Red Alert but i had greater interest in Counter Strike

Ever heard of Quake? ;)
Hehe...Yeah ! Of course ! Nael always tells me about it ! *grin*

So what is it about CS that attracts you? do you love the game, or is it just some way to pass your time?
I love the game and it's not only a passtime activity. Cs is a challenging game that needs more than personal skills. It's more about team work. (thats my point of view ) *grin*

Right. ;) I heard LS used to have some kind of deal with Sky Surf. It's closed since. Looking for any sponsors in the future? If they'd like to know what's the big deal with your clan, what would you tell them?
Yeah, We're looking for sponsors. -[Ls]- is a girl clan. There arent many girl clans out there and well, as people said we were the first girl clan in Subang Jaya (nbk)

So you're going to sell the clan based on its being an all-girl affair? Would you call that a strength, or a unique circumstance?
Strength. I dont see any difference between us, girls and guys. Although there have been many controversy about it. It's more of proving us girls could do as well as the guys and of course we're trying our best to achieve what the guys could achieve.
Although I do agree that guys are better players than girls. We do not want to prove that we're better but we want to prove that we could do as well as them.
Even if we cant, at least we've tried and if we could achieve anything close to them...we're satisfied.

Oh? Why do you say guys are better than girls? In a "sport" like computer gaming, I think both are equal in terms of potential.
It's proven that guys have better abilities in gaming. They're able to read the game faster.

Where did you get proof that guys have better abilities in gaming?
Based on my observations. *grin*

So how long do you think it'd take before you break one of the Big Four, assuming they're still around come end of this year?
At the moment i do not intend to break one of the big four. If i do, we need alot of training and experience. The big 4 had gone thru many years of gaming while we're just fresh.

But to really make an impact, and open the eyes of the community (and sponsors), the best thing to do would be to crack the Big 4 like a nut!
I'll try my very best but like I said, I need alot of time and experience to do that. I can't be the best overnight.

I'm sure there's a way to catch up. Just like the world's caught up with Fatality, and Malaysia's caught up (and since overtaken) NBTD, who did look invulnerable in the beginning.
Hopefully we can catch up fast.

So I take it Ls will be entering tournaments for real once you're done with your exams and get a full team?
Yeah. We'll get the ball spinning after our SPM ..hehe.

How committed are you towards the clan? What about the other members? are they as enthusiastic?
I can't give full commitment at the moment but I'm sure after my SPM we're able to give our fullest commitment. My members are very commited too. We're eager to join our first competition.

That's great ;) Do your members work well together? how would you rate yourselves on raw skill and teamwork? Care to list the members of LS in order of their ability?
Yes, my members work pretty well together. They listen to commands fairly well. Hehe..rate myself ? I'm not really sure. You've got to rate me! I can't really rate my members in order of their ability because we have individual skills. We're better at certain weapons.

What's your favourite weapon?
The carbine and the AWP....( and the knife!!!! er...if gaven the chance to use it ) hehe

Any memorable incidents IN a CS game, or related to CS?
hmmmmmm.......
I guess it was when we were gaven the chance to play with PLAM in a public server. They got us exposed. Having to play with one of the big four is indeed a very lucky thing

I was thinking more into amazing shots like a shish-kebab of 4 opponents in one nice AWP shot while jumping off a ledge and turning 180 degrees with 15 life left? ;P
There's actually one inncident which gave us the spirit.
That inccident hit us hard it made us realise the importance of survival in male chauvinistic game

Wow it's a chauvinistic male world now. Well, what was the incident? ;)
There was a clan made fun of us. It was supposed to be a 3 on 3 game but they brought an extra player in. They ignored us when we questioned them about the extra player. We began the game. At that time -[Ls]- weren't established yet.

Will the clan remain nameless?
yes...
They were a pretty experienced clan. They began trashing us and laughing at us. Loudly. We could hear their evil laughters from the end of the room.

Ouch!
Yes ouch !
There were 4 experienced male players against us 3 ... tell me about being fair!

Why don't you reveal them for who they are. This is your big chance! ;)
Haha..nah...if you wanna know, they were our close mutual friends

So you just grit your teeth and played on, and after surviving the initial ordeal, came about with the name, Lady Survivors?
yup
We just wanna prove them wrong some day that we're not a bunch of fools
We're not their puppets which they can play around and make fun of with

So that's how you got the name. Well, hopefully you'll become LV someday, Lady Victors.
Hehehee... yup ! hopefully !! ;)) hmmm..that sounds like a pretty cool clan tag .. lol

It's a goal oriented clan, I can see that! ;) Do you have any local/international CS heroes you look up to?
Yeah, I used to look up to the NBTDs. They used to dominate the CS world but i do not have any favourite clan which i worship ;)

p/s : Plam V gains my respect too

You used "used to". has that opinion changed? What about individual players?
Well yeah, I have to agree with everyone that they're not that strong anymore but they're still striving. I looked up to the original NBTD teams though.
Hmmm... I'm really impressed with Keigo's sniping skills and lil`paco's AK! ( they're GODS !!! )

Did you learn to play CS yourself or was there a sifu to show the way?
A girl friend of mine introduced me to the game. There weren't anyone in specific who taught me how to play. I guess i had to learn by observing

Well you've come a long way since then. Your mom's yelling at you for dinner. You haven't COOKED dinner! ;)

I hope we could make our dreams realistic and I hope all the girl clans out there could prove that we have the ability to achieve what you guys had achieved

and NAEL's GONNA TEACH ME QUAKE !!!! lol
