Finding out at the end of our first real Q2CTF 'friendly' that
(UNR)Tasan, (Unreal clan leader and AMP defender) having
successfully held the McKinley's Revival base for the full
forty minutes with little more than a railgun and his rune
didn't (and hadn't ever) used a crosshair. Freak unique, or
gifted child, the man was capable of 60% rail without anything
to line it up. :) •
UKCCL season 2 final? [UNR]Spog
out fragging {Abfab}'s star player and ultra lpb, Alchy, with
little more than a handful of fluky hand grenades. :) Lava
Pit, 4v4 with no wep stay...what can I say, he was being
inventive ;)

Coming within 10 frags of
[D9]Thresh with clan mate and fellow limey modemer [UNR]Yakumo,
on the satan. It was on the id servers the night of the 64
player maps release. Then having him immediately bow out at
the beginning of the next map mumbling something about 'food.' •
Beating Cash and Bear on
the same night on base64 and having then sneak off immediately
afterwards as well. (id write greats games, but dear god did
they all suck at them accept Brandon :p) •
My indoctrination into Spooks

And beating l33t professional
hax0r www.kimble.org and his aimbot in ra2, only to have him
nuke b0rk.co.uk's irc bouncer afterwards and through dos
attacks at Barrysworld for the next week or so in revenge.

Q1: would have to be PainKeep.
Simply because it got so silly. Bear traps and grav wells, yum
yum yum ;) •
Q2: prolly Ra2, more for the
people than the gameplay itself tho. On numerous occasions,
playing with ppl like Teardrop, Warforge, Bully, Yakumo, Che,
Flex and the other BwRa2 lateniters we'd go 5 or 6 hours
straight, rail only on the single arenas just messing around
and having a giggle. Honing skills without ppl having paddies
and tantrums cos they weren't winning. People like that make
the genre worth playing fullstop.
Tournament Attendance:
I tried entering a couple
of QuakeWorld ones early on with friends from Bristol, only to find
myself being the only female in a room packed with
testosterone saturated 14 year old boys and plenty of dirty
old men. Not bothered since. :/
