BostonChick

Nick Name: BostonChick (beecee, rubbaninja)
Location: Arizona - USA
Birthday: October 9

Current Games Focused: None really. I mostly just play XBox if I play anything at all. I really don't have any games installed on my PC anymore.

Favorite Games of all time: Quake 2 maybe? I'm not sure. I really never liked the "gaming", I liked all the things that came with it. I am really bad in competitive situations and we all know how competitive online gaming is.

Current Clan Status: I'm totally free from the shackles of an online clan or any clan at all. There is just too much involved in it all and to juggle that with life is just way too much.

Former Clans:
PMS, Rangers, Lagitus, GT.

Chat Hangouts: I really don't spend any time with the online community anymore. Of course, life is the biggest factor involved in keeping me away. However, I have started up Bostonchick.com in a way. It's just general blabber. I also keep a journal on Live Journal.com, this helps through some of the rough spots in life. It's funny how can vent out the bad stuff so easily to many nameless faces.

Quake Memories:  I guess one of the most prominent Quake memory would have to be QuakeCon 1999, what a blast that was. I met up with many clan mates from 2 of the 3 clans I had been in and was in at the time.;
I also had the opportunity to play in the Press and Male vs. Female tournament's. It was a blast but too bad they were all played using Quake 3 Beta. I had only played it one or two times before then.

The Male vs. Female tournament is a good story though..
The females were; TankGirl from Clan PMS, Kornelia Snowqueen and Shakes. We battled against Huntsman from the Rangers and a couple of others that I cannot remember their names. Carmack was on the guy's team also, he seemed to like the feel of my gauntlet against his head because for some reason he kept running into it!!! I guess he thought it was irresistible ;)

--------------------------------

The chicks did their best and ended up just about, if not, winning the match. However, an over zealous BYOC* player, who wasn't really invited to the game, decided to try and squeezing into the fragile Q3 beta server. Just about 1.5 minutes left to the match and our unexpected guest brought down the show. I would say that the shot above is just about the time when the server crashed.  Everyone made the decision to call it a tie. That's only fair I guess, I think we would have wanted the same. ;)

Three hours later the PMS chicks were up at the GameSpy party with a people such as crt, essobie and various others.
As night turned into morning everyone sat around the room listening to Steed talk about Quake 3, Q3 models and anything else Quake or gaming related.  That QCon basically was the end of Quake 2. Quake 3 came out a few months later. The basic Quake migration happened; basically 80%-90% of the prior Quake move on to the next and don't look back

That being said, I don't think that I would ever go to another QuakeCon. Doing so would spoil the memories and it can't ever be like it was back then.

*Bring Your Own Computer

Modification Admiration: It is a toss up between Team Fortress for Q1 and Rocket Arena for Quake 2.  I prefer lot's of pills in both mod's. I bounce them things with style!! Well, at least I think that =P

Tournament Attendance: The words Tournament and League are dirty words to me. I haven't had an interest in them but I did end up in a league or two. That didn't last long however.
There was a couple of tournaments which I had did really bad in so I decided against doing those anymore.

I guess I'm just a geek now. Finish me off if you see me playing solitaire online, please? Thanks!
