Quake Memories:  I still play Quake and Quake 2 single player from time to time. The original Quake game brings the most memories though. Now that I think about it, there is some bad memories that come to mind too. They always did work out for the good in the long run but when things got bad, they got worse.  I always knew something good would come out of it afterwards. It's like climbing a mountain. Sometimes the mountain is so hard to climb but once you are able to get to the top, things start flowing really good. ;)  I hope that makes sense.

I guess I can think of one thing in specific. There was a Soldiers of Fortune mod, well maybe it was really a mappack that you could download on Mplayer's Multiplayer Gaming Service. I remember Mplayer was the only place I could download it from. There wasn't much do to either get killed or hide at times, because I didn't know the map very well. So at first when I started playing, there was an area that was so beautiful in one of the maps that I would go up on. There was a helicopter in the map too. Back then you never saw something real like a helicopter in the maps of Quake. It was so relaxing to sit up there and look at the view. Then again I felt like I was watching real live Quake matches, seeing everyone fragging each other in the distance. I didn't shoot at anyone but occasionally someone would find me and I'd have to protect myself. heehee :)  That's just one memory that I am very fond of.

Come to think of it, I am helping some friends to make a Cookbook. Here's a very light and exquisite tasting recipe that kind of reminds me of Quake.

~~~~~~~~~~
Quake Dirt Cake
~~~~~~~~~~
Ingredients:
1/4 cups butter, softened or margarine
1 cup cream cheese, soft
1 cup powdered sugar
3 1/2 cups milk
2 small boxes (3/4 oz) Vanilla Pudding
16 oz. Cool Whip
1 1/2 pkg. (1# 1 oz) Oreo cookies (or the new Oreo cookies chocolate cream with real cocoa)

Method:
Put Oreo Cookies in Food processor. If you don't have a food processor you can use your blender but only 4 sandwich cookies at a time. Blend the cookies until it looks like a sandy texture.

In a separate medium bowl, mix pudding with milk, then add the above mixture of butter, cream cheese and sugar. Mix he whole container of Cool Whip.

Then place in a clean plant pot with layers of above mix, then cookies (sandy texture), add another layer of each again. Your last layer should be the sandy texture cookies on top. About 1 cup of mix alternating to 1/2 -1 cup of crumbled cookies each layer at a time.

Modification Admiration: Soldiers of Fortune was a very fun mod or was it a mappack? There was also another modification where it had the gravity gone in Quake 1. I dont know if that was a mod but the code made it where you feel like you were flying. I enjoyed that one as well.

Tournament Attendance: Soldiers of Fortune Tournament on Mplayer's Multiplayer Gaming service.
